about us

Jennifer Ryan is an Associate Professor in Mathematics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Her background is in designing and developing higher-order methods for numerical partial differential equations. Her research focuses on extracting extra accuracy through convolution filtering, such as the SIAC filter, as well as multi-wavelet multi-resolution analysis. Her techniques have been applied to fluid visualization, adaptivity indication, and shock regularization.

Xulia Docampo is a Marie-Curie Fellow at Barcelona Supercomputing Centre. Her research focuses on the whole simulation pipeline: from developing CAD and automatic meshing tools, to post-process numerical data with SIAC filters. She is also an open-source software advocate, aiming to have a major component of her research production in the form of free software packages.

Matthew Picklo is a PhD student in Computational and Applied Mathematics at the Colorado School of Mines. His research interests are focused on the numerical analysis of partial differential equations and applications of Smoothness-Increasing Accuracy-Conserving (SIAC) filters.

Soraya Terrab is a PhD student at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at the Colorado School of Mines. Her research interests include numerical computation, discontinuity detection, filtering, and imaging science. She is involved in STEM outreach through a student-led organization, Mines Mathematics and Computing Collaborative (MMCC).

Jacqueline del Castillo is a third-year PhD student in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (AMS) at the Colorado School of Mines. Her work is in detecting the location and power of fractional singularities.
