What is SIAC? 

The Smoothness-Increasing Accuracy-Conserving (SIAC) filter is a post-processing tool designed to extract accuracy in numerical solutions. By exploiting superconvergence in the underlying numerical method, SIAC filtering can reduce oscillations, reduce errors, and increase convergence rates.
